What is HeliFlights?

A leader in helicopter tours and aerial photography, HeliFlights strives to offer a unique experience, allowing its passengers to capture the sights of the New York Skyline from above. HeliFlights will take you on an adventure of a lifetime, crossing it off some bucket lists, and leaving you with an appetite for more.


When is the best time to fly?

For first time flyers, we suggest a flight early afternoon or morning where there is a lot of light to view the famous sights from above. For more experienced photographers, a sunset/night flight is also an incredible choice. Please note that flash photography is not permitted on night flights.


What should I bring?

Bring a copy of your voucher, photo id and your camera (DSLR, GoPro, Cellphone)

All cameras must have a strap. Selfie sticks (longer than a handle/grip) are not allowed.

 

Can I bring my Cell Phone, Camera, or Go Pro on the flight?

We encourage guests to bring cameras of any sort to capture the amazing views New York City has to offer.

If doing a Doors-Off flight, we require ALL ITEMS to be STRAPPED ON.

Can I bring a bag on board?

Unfortunately bags are not allowed on our flights, however we do have free lockers at your disposal to place your things while on your flight!

Are we allowed to bring food, alcoholic beverages, weapons on the flight?

Consumption of food or alcohol is prohibited on all of our flights. Weapons on our flights are not tolerated.


What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. As it gets windy, we recommend avoiding loose clothing. Please remember to wear comfortable footwear, tightly laced/strapped shoes are preferable. Slip-ons and flip flops will need to be removed before the flight.

Doors Off

Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, open-toe shoes and sandals are not allowed on door off flights.


Why is the date I selected not available?

Our system automatically filters you to the next available date and time.


What should I do after completing my reservation?

Upon completion of your reservation, please keep an eye on the email that you provided for a confirmation email. All communication regarding your flight will be sent via email.

What is the cancellation policy?

Flights are non refundable. Scheduling changes can be made up to 48 hours before flight departure. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice before the flight will be charged a $50.00 fee. If you need to reschedule or weather grounds the flight, you may reschedule your flight for another date and time within 12 months. This flight may also be transferred to another individual.


Does flight time start right away?

Yes, flight time is measured from takeoff to landing.


Can I schedule a private photo flight experience?

Absolutely! Please contact info@heliflights.us  to discuss options.


Is there any age restriction?

For our Doors-Off flights the age limit is 12 years and older with parental consent.

For our Doors-On flights For our Doors-On flights  children must be 5 years old or older accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

What do you do if there is bad weather?

In the event of inclement weather, Heliflights will notify you 24 hours prior to your reservation through an email informing that your flight has been cancelled. Please check your email and your spam folder frequently for updates on the day of your flight. Should weather ground your flight, you may reschedule for another date and time within 12 months.


Do you fly in the winter?

HeliFlights operates all year round, weather permitting!


Is Heliflights safe?

Heliflights' pilots and instructors are FAA certified, highly qualified to guarantee the best flight experience, and also possesses first class infrastructure. All aircraft are maintained to strict FAA Regulatory standards. Passengers and their equipment are safely secured and doubled checked prior to take off.


How do I redeem my voucher?

Upon completion of your registration, you will be prompted to add you nine digit Groupon at the end of your reservation.

Arrive 40 minutes before your flight time for check-in and briefing of our safety precautions and weigh-in procedures

Is there any weight restriction?

Due to weight and balance, any passengers participating in our sightseeing flights that are over 270 lbs (122 kg) will not be able to fly.


What route do these flights take?

Heliflights offers three initial packages ranging in different flight times and flight paths:

Classic (20-25 min), Deluxe (25-30), and Premium (30-35)

How many people fly on each flight?

Up to three passengers are allowed on each flight.The weight between all 3 passengers cannot exceed 580lbs total. 


When should I arrive?

Helifights requires that you arrive 40 minutes prior to flight time for preflight information and safety briefing. If you do not arrive to by the designated time, you will forfeit your flight and incur a $50.00 rebooking fee.


How do I get to Linden?

If you will be driving yourself, our address is: Hanger 400, 1101 W Edgar Rd, Linden, NJ 07036

For Mass transit, take the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor towards Trenton, exiting at Linden (5 stops from NY Penn Station), then take an Uber or Taxi to the hangar.

You may also type Heliflights into your GPS which will land you in front of our door step

Heliflights COVID-19 Protocols:
  • All staff and passengers are required to wear a face mask/covering at all times while on the premises. 
  • Increased sanitation of our lounge area and aircraft.
  • Disinfect our headsets and life vests for passenger use.
  • Please Note:Passengers who are feeling ill, have been exposed, or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should remain at home. Heliflights will reschedule your flight free of charge.
